Handcrafted woodworking rooted in a four-generation family tradition. Every piece is made with intention, finished with care, and built to be used and passed down.
"Wood chosen for character, not just appearance."
Our Story
Orange Trail Timber began in a great-grandfather's shop in Unionville, Missouri — a place where wood was worked by hand, not hurried. That spirit lives in every board we select, every joint we cut, and every finish we apply.
We build cutting boards, flag cases, porch swings, furniture, and custom commissions from species like walnut, white oak, hard maple, padauk, and purpleheart. Each piece is made to be used every day and handed down someday.
Live edge, figured grain, natural color variation — we choose boards that tell a story, not boards that hide one.
Mortise-and-tenon joinery, food-safe finishes, and hardware that holds up decades of daily use.
Built with the same discipline and attention to detail as service — here in Kansas City, Missouri.

How It's Made
Select the Wood
Boards are chosen for grain character, color variation, and structural integrity — not just what's easiest.
Mill & Joint
Each board is milled flat, squared, and jointed before assembly. No shortcuts that compromise long-term stability.
Build & Shape
Glue-ups, joinery, and shaping are done by hand. Mortise-and-tenon, lap joints, and hand-fitted profiles.
Finish & Deliver
Food-safe oils, Waterlox, and hand-applied finishes. Sanded to 220. Delivered ready to use for a lifetime.
Veteran-Owned
Orange Trail Timber is owned and operated by a U.S. Army veteran. The discipline, attention to detail, and commitment to doing the job right — those don't leave when the uniform comes off.
When you buy from us, you're supporting a veteran-owned small business in Kansas City. We appreciate every single order.
